Scots attracts world class Director of Rugby

Former dual-code representative and Head Coach at London Irish, Mr Brian Smith, stepped into the role as Director of Rugby at The Scots College on Tuesday 21 April after the College publicly announced the appointment of Mr Smith last month.

"Given the College's impressive Rugby program, it's a privilege to be taking up a position at The Scots College," said Mr Smith who will coach the College's 1st XV GPS premiers in the upcoming season.

"One of the things I am most passionate about is working with young, aspiring athletes, and building character based on values. I see at lot of talent at Scots; I am looking forward to leading the College into future successes," he added.

Dr Ian Lambert, Principal at The Scots College commented on Mr Smith's appointment, "It is extremely exciting to have someone of Brian's calibre join us as we set our sights on further integrating and developing our academic and sporting programs. I strongly believe Brian's extensive achievement and experience in academic, coaching, and mentoring domains will enable him to lead our boys, both on and off the field."

From a family of school educators, Mr Smith holds a Master's Degree in Philosophy, Politics and Economics and a Diploma of Social Studies from the University of Oxford, a Bachelor Degree in Economics and a Diploma of Teaching from Queensland University.
