Oliver Logan wins The Sydney Morning Herald’s Children’s Drawing Competition

In March, Year 5 Scots boy Oliver Logan's zombie illustration was selected by award-winning Fairfax illustrator John Shakespeare as one of three winners in The Sydney Morning Herald's Children's Drawing Competition.

Oliver's illustration was one of hundreds of entries and as a prize he received his illustration which Mr Shakespeare had coloured in. "I like the colours on the head," Oliver told The Sydney Morning Herald.

Mr Shakespeare told The Sydney Morning Herald that he was impressed with the entries that were received. "It was very difficult to narrow the drawings down to the winners, they were all so great …
I loved Oliver's zombie, with all the little details like the skull and crossbones and unicycle."

"It is always a pleasure witnessing young boys developing creatively," said Dr Ian PM Lambert, Principal of The Scots College. "This competition has been an extraordinary opportunity for Oliver to employ creative thinking strategies, which are key to success in the contemporary world."
