A Fine Scots Boy

Kyol Blakeney

"Being a Scots boarder has given me the opportunity to experience the wide variety of cultures that are a part of the Scots community. Being a boarder means having your mates around you every day and this really encourages you to strive for excellence. Boarding has also developed in me a strong sense of independence and I leave Scots with the knowledge that I can overcome any challenge I encounter in the future."

Kyol ('11) is studying a Bachelor of Primary Education at the University of Sydney and settled well into college life. He is residing at St. Andrew's College, one of five residential colleges on campus. He regularly visits Scots, to perform his role as mentor to Aidan Bestwick, in Year 7. Thanks to Kyol's help, encouragement and training, Aidan is many steps ahead in his bagpipes. Kyol's goal at the end of his course is to be a fully qualified Primary School Teacher.
